What wonderful hosts Cherry Lodge GC were for our Kent Golf 2025 Summer Mixed Greensomes! Not only did they lay on a starter, pin charts, and a fabulous two-course meal after golf, they also provided us with a well-maintained and enjoyably challenging course, with the late-summer sunshine being something of a bonus.
Making the most of the favourable conditions were the Prince’s pair of Hilary Brown and Richard Elson, who had the best score of the day with 44 points, thus taking home the Mackenzie Nett Trophy. Runners-up were Dave Mack and Jackie Taylor (Nizels) on 40, on countback from Lynn and Steve Orrin (North Foreland).
In the Jerrom Bowl Scratch competition, Dartford’s Dermot O’Connor and Anne Wheble triumphed with a level par round and 36 points, with the Sundridge Park pair of Julia and Tim Low taking second spot on 24. Rounding out the prize-winners with 23 were Ali Chapman and Andy Walker (Prince’s), on countback from Sarah and Nick McDonald (Wildernesse).
We thank Cherry Lodge for their warm welcome and hope it will not be too long before we can return and enjoy their hospitality once again.
