Abe Bignell recorded an extraordinary stretch of golf at Bear Ridge Golf Club, Texas

Date published: 3 Sep 2025

Former Kent junior player and Captain of the U16 Boys and U18s teams, Abe Bignell, recorded an extraordinary stretch of golf at Bear Ridge Golf Club, Texas.

Abe has continued his golf journey in the United States, where he is now a sophomore at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas (playing at Bear Ridge Golf Club) under the guidance of his respected coach, Vince Clark.

Last week, Abe shot 28 (-8) for nine holes. His run from Holes 2 to 9 was 7 birdies and 1 eagle in 8 consecutive holes. That’s -9 across 8 holes, a scoring pace that matches the very best ever seen on the professional tours.

For context, the PGA Tour record for consecutive birdies is 9 in a row. Abe’s sequence — 7 birdies and an eagle — is rarer still and demonstrates both his talent and his ability to perform at the highest levels.

Very well played, Abe, and best of luck in your upcoming tournaments.
