What an enjoyable day we had at Mid Kent for the Joan Piper Greensomes! This was the second year of the new adult and junior format, and it is proving popular as the entry of 30 pairs showed. We had teams from all corners of the county – Prince’s, Cherry Lodge, Littlestone, and Upchurch being just a few of the clubs who were represented.
The course was in beautiful condition, but the blustery conditions meant maximum concentration was required if a good score was to be achieved. Best of the day with 41 points, and taking the Joan Piper trophy for 2025, was the father-and-son pairing of Harry and Steve Klosek (Faversham and Prince’s, respectively), just one point ahead of runners-up, Hugo and Adam Marshall (Bearsted and Littlestone, respectively). Taking third place with 39 points were Christina and Sandro Carlotti (Canterbury) on countback from the Hever Castle pair of Tom and Martin Edmeads.
Our thanks go to Mid Kent Golf Club for hosting us and for supporting this competition.
Well done to Harry and Steve on their success and a special pat on the back to Harry for making the speech – I am sure there will be many more in the future!
