Race to St George's Qualifier at Walmer & Kingsdown GC report

It was a bright and breezy day for the first Race to St. George’s Qualifier of the season at our friendly club on the cliffs, Walmer & Kingsdown GC.
A full field took to the course in an effort to secure some of those valuable Order of Merit points that guarantee one of the coveted spots in the final at The Royal St. George’s Golf Club in October.
Leading the way, with a gross 75, was Knole Park’s William Henderson, ahead of a slew of players on 77. Taking second place on countback was Justin Chenu (Chelsfield Lakes) with Chislehurst’s Theodore Gatsell coming third.
In the handicap section, Mia Bolton (The London Club) took the honours with an excellent nett 68, just ahead of Langley Park’s Bella Watson. Rounding out the prize winners, in third place, was Marley Simpson (Rochester & Cobham Park).
Thank you to our referees and volunteers for giving up their time to assist, and a big thank you to Walmer & Kingsdown GC for hosting this event and supporting our aspiring Kent juniors.
We now look forward to round two at Prince’s on 25th May.
