Littlestone GC, Guildford Trophy winners of 2023, faced Wrotham Heath GC, Perman Shield winners of 2023 in the Mid Kent Cup, at Mid Kent Golf Club.
After a cold morning, a closely competed morning foursomes finished 2-2.
Wrotham Heath took an early lead in the afternoon singles, however, Littlestone fought back.
Derek Kindercliff-Jones (Littlestone) had a hole-in-one on the 13th, winning the hole and providing much excitement to the waiting members in the bar.
A strong finish by Richard Punyer and Robert Clark gave Littlestone the chance to win. The cup came down to the last putt in the last game of the match with Kindercliff-Jones sealing the victory and clinching the cup for Littlestone.
The match ended in a 6-6 tie, with Littlestone winning on holes won by 25-16.
