Invicta 10s & 12s Jamboree report

Another Kent Golf Invictas Tour came to a sunny end on Sunday as our nine U12s and twenty-one U10s assembled at North Foreland Golf Club for the Jamboree.
In the U12s, Lenny Ridley (The Ridge) took the daily prize on countback from Reggie Jones (Eltham Warren) with a fine score of 60 around the par 3 course. William Brown took third spot on 67. The Order of Merit had already been won by Reggie due to his dominant form in the previous four rounds – many congratulations Reggie! Lenny was the runner-up with William coming third. Keeping it an all-Eltham Warren affair, our best girl for 2024 was Tilly Greatley.
Things were much tighter in the U10s competition with three players tied for top spot going into the last event, but coming out of the pack to win the day and the Order of Merit was Harrison D’Arcy with a very commendable score of 33 over 9 holes. Well played Harrison! Second place on the day went to Joseph Robinson, which helped him on his way to third in the final standings, and third prize went to Owen Goddard. Valentin Scott kept up his consistent form of the season to take the runner-up spot in the Order of Merit, with his sister, Valya, taking the best girls’ prize.
In the skills tests, best driving was won by Rory Shaw with Harry Martin taking the chipping prize. Casey Botes again showed his skill with the putter, and the overall skills winner was Joseph Robinson.
We thank all the young players (and their parents and chauffeurs!) for their commitment to the Invictas Tour. It’s very rewarding to see how our budding golfers have improved over the course of the year, and we look forward to following their progress.
Our thanks, as always, go to North Foreland for their splendid hospitality and for making the Jamboree such an enjoyable event in the Kent Golf calendar. We hope that it may long continue!
