It was a very early start for the teams, and the weather was damp, very windy, and chilly. The morning foursomes matches were very close and came down to the wire with Hampshire taking the spoils by 2-1.
It was a very quick turnaround for the afternoon singles, and both teams were full of energy by having massive jacket potatoes for lunch. The top match of Ali (Kent) and Louise (Hampshire) was very tight, and after just playing 5 holes, there had been 2 eagles, 2 birdies, and 1 par. Fantastic golf. The match went to Kent, the score for them both was -9. The other matches were closely fought battles and again some amazing golf was played, and it all came down to the last match on the last hole for Kent to take the afternoon singles 3½ to 2½ making the overall match a draw 4½ to 4½, which was a fantastic result for Kent.
We would like to thank Canterbury Golf Club for the wonderful hospitality both teams received.
