Invicta 10s & 12s report

Date published: 14 Aug 2024

The glorious summer sunshine continued at Etchinghill for the penultimate leg of our 2024 Invictas Tour, where seven players did battle in the U12 competition and 19 in the U10s.

Keeping up his fine form this season was Reggie Jones, who won the U12s 18-hole event with a score of 67 (twice round the Academy course). The runner-up spot went to William Brown with 73, and Ray Tolfrey came close behind with a 76.

In the U10s, our youngest competitor, Shane Cooper, had a super 9-hole score of 33 to take the spoils, just ahead of Joseph Robinson on 35, who beat Owen Goddard into third place on countback.

The best putter of the day was Logan Prett, and we found a budding bunker wizard in Tommy Coombes. Taking the driving skills was Owen Goddard, and the overall skills winner, showing good consistency, was Joseph Robinson.

There are now three players with equal points at the top of the Invicta 10s OoM! Valentin Scott (Upchurch River Valley), Harry Martin (Kings Hill), and Shane Cooper (Sheerness), all with 56 points.

We thank Etchinghill for their hospitality and a special thank you to our volunteers – Christine, Tim, and Hannah – for going above and beyond to make sure the day went ahead.

We look forward to the grand final at North Foreland on Sunday 25th August, when we hope the sun will shine on us once again.
