Race to St George's (South) report

Date published: 6 Aug 2024

Another full field of 48 eager youngsters lined up at The Weald of Kent for our third Race to St. George’s Qualifier of 2024. The course looked most inviting in the radiant summer sunshine, and we had some sparkling scoring to match.

Best scratch of the day went to Ashton Bean (Prince’s) with a two-over-par 72, closely followed by the Bearsted pair of Oscar Ford and Elliot Chamberlain on 73.

Luke Hopson (North Foreland) took the nett prize with a fine 66, with runner-up, Elliot Swift (Boughton), on 67. Mia Bolton rounded out the prize-winners by taking third on 69.

We thank our trusty band of referees and volunteers who helped the youngsters negotiate the numerous penalty areas that lie in wait around the Weald, and we also thank the club for their super hospitality and support of our junior players.

There is only one more qualifier to go before the grand final at Royal St. George’s in October, so expect competition to be fierce at Mid Kent on the 20th August!
