Invicta 10s & 12s report

Date published: 1 Aug 2024

The third leg of our 2024 Invictas tour called in at Boughton on the last day of July and we had lots of sun, cloud, wind, and one heavy downpour – a typical English summer’s day!

Eleven youngsters took part in the under 12s 18-hole competition over the par 3 course, and shooting a fabulous 62 and winning by 8 shots was Reggie Jones (Eltham Warren). There was a tie on 70 between William Brown, Lenny Ridley (The Ridge), and Tilly Greatley (Eltham Warren), with William just edging second place with a better back nine. Lenny and Tilly both had identical nines of 37, 33 so they shared third place.

In the under 10s event, the best 9-hole prize went to Oscar Robertson with 31, with Casey Botes taking the runner-up spot on 35. Coming in third, just missing second on countback, was Tommy Coombes.

The skills tests were as hotly contested as ever and the overall winner was Casey Botes. The longest driver on the day was Owen Goddard, and our most accurate chipper was Valya Scott. Completing our list of prize winners was Oscar Robertson who claimed the putting medal.

Our thanks go to Boughton, The Cave, for hosting us and looking after our youngsters so well.

The next stop is Etchinghill on 13th August, with the grand finale at North Foreland on 25th August. We hope to see you there!
