Kent Senior Men played in the SEG Seniors' Qualifying this week at a tough but well presented Heythrop Park GC in Oxfordshire, finishing 4th out of the 11 counties participating.
A disappointing Day One meant the team had much to do for the second round. The team managed to have the low score on Day Two, which saw Kent rise to finish 4th behind the worthy winners BB&O, who progress to the national finals in Torquay.
Thanks to the team for their efforts in the extremely hot weather, Danny Holmes, Matt Jarvis, and Bob Florence (Rochester & Cobham Park), Richard Tomlin and John Heywood (Sundridge Park), and Mark Haffenden (Langley Park).
Danny Holmes confirmed his status as one of the leading seniors in the country by winning the Individual event by 2 strokes, with a level par score over the two rounds. His second such win in the last 3 years.
