Kent senior women's team win 5-1 in an away match v Essex

It was the sort of day where players were constantly looking at the skies to work out which way the strong swirly wind was blowing, and whether the heavens were about to open. In the end, we felt lucky to get away with just one shower, however, this was extremely heavy, soaking everyone early in the round, leaving the wind to slowly dry us out again.
Our practice round was most valuable in learning to play the slopes on the hilly Chigwell fairways and greens, hitting the greens in regulation proving to be a decisive factor. Some very steady play across the whole team saw us come away with an excellent 5-1 win.
The match was played in great spirit, and the Chigwell staff all looked after us very well, from the pro shop looking after our clubs to the catering staff producing a lovely meal.
