Race to St George's (West) report

Date published: 30 May 2024

Another full field assembled at Langley Park for the second qualifier for this year’s Race to St. George’s event. The course was looking most inviting in the morning sun and conditions remained clement for the duration of the day’s play.

Scoring was quite tough for our youngsters over the long and testing layout and the best of the day was a gross 73 from Justin Chenu (Chelsfield Lakes), which was an impressive five strokes better than his nearest rivals, Jenson Ringer (Rochester & Cobham Park) and Luca Alderson (Poult Wood), who came second and third respectively.

The nett prize was taken by Finn Smith (Knole Park) with a 67, on countback from both Caleb Twyman (Prince’s) and Eoghan Hilton (Wrotham Heath).

Our thanks go to Clive and his team at Langley Park for making us so welcome and for being so supportive of Kent Junior Golf.

The third leg takes place at the Weald of Kent on the 5th of August.

Thank you to Kent Golf College, the Race to St George's events sponsor.
