FORMAT: 36 holes of stroke play

ELIGIBILITY

• GENDER: Male and female
• HI: Maximum handicap index of 9.4 for boys and 12.4 for girls
• AGE: Under 18 years of age on the 1st January of the year of the competition

DATE: 27 May 2026

VENUE: Prince's GC

ENTRY FEE: £50 incl a meal

CLOSING DATE: 13 May 2026 at 17:00. Late entries will not be accepted but may be added to a reserve list. Refunds WILL NOT be issued after the closing date

OTHER INFORMATION

• Players must be a member of a Kent Club affiliated to Kent Golf
• Caddies are not permitted
• The parent/guardian must have completed an annual Junior Player Profile and Parental Consent form, without which the entry cannot be accepted
• The winner of the Boys' Scratch will be invited to represent Kent in the Boys' County Champion of Champions event at Woodhall Spa Golf Club on the 12 September 2026
• The winner of the Girls' Scratch will be invited to represent Kent in the Girls' County Champion of Champions event at Woodhall Spa Golf Club on 5 September 2026

• General Play Cards - 

In order to enter the KENT GOLF JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP an entrant must be:

In possession of an individual up-to-date Handicap Index® not exceeding 9.4 for boys and 12.4 for girls under the World Handicapping System™.

An entry may be refused if, in the opinion of the Championship Committee, a players Handicap Index is not reflective of their playing ability. This decision may be based on but is not limited to:

(a) a handicap record (most recent 20 scores) that contains more than 4 (four) General Play scores,

(b) a handicap record (most recent 20 scores) that contains less than 4 (four) Competition Scores, or

(c) an incomplete handicap record where fewer than 20 scores have been returned.

* For clarification – you are allowed to have more than four General Play cards in your record but if you have more than four then your record will be looked at.

Your Competition average score will then be compared to your General Play average score.

If your General Play average score is 2 or more lower than your Competition average score, entry will be denied.

KENT GOLF reserves the right to contact the Club Handicap Committee to highlight the returning of General Play scores.

PRIZES:

• The Kent Junior Champion will be the player who returns the lowest gross score
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd for boys and 1st, 2nd and, subject to the number of entries, 3rd for girls
• A. E. Packman Trophy will be held for one year by the male competitor aged under 16 years on the 1st January 2025 who returns the lowest gross score
• Richard Young Cup will be held for one year by the male player returning the lowest nett score over 36 holes
• The first round of the Kent Junior Scratch Championship is a qualifier for The Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship hosted by Quinta do Lago
